L.R. PUNSALAN AND ASSOCIATES was established in 1974 in fulfillment of the desire of its principal organizer and his associates to have a venue with which they could fully utilize their engineering background and specialized training and experience in the field of mechanical engineering designs and consultation works.
Engineer Laurentino R. Punsalan, Professional Mechanical Engineer, PSME Member, the first Filipino Fellow of the American Society of Heating Refrigeraion Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and an Asia-Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) Engineer, is the prime mover of the company. Since its establishment the firm has accomplished a credible number of engineering design and consultancy services, notably in its special line of air-conditioning and refrigeration. The company has had previous involvement in diesel electric power plant design, various mechanical process, steam and hot water production, compressed air plants, fuel systems, and projects studies on cogeneration system and thermal energy storage systems (TESS)
The company designs mechanical systems not only to make them better, but also to make them energy efficient. Currently, the company is spearheading awareness and encouragement on the consideration of Green Building Design as a design approach. Engr. Larry Punsalan has led in discussion on the nature and effects of global warming and has introduced design concepts inorder to realize operations and cost efficiencies. He also spreadheaded the creation of Energy Standards for HVAC in the country. Members of the management and design staff have educated themselves on the merits if green building principles, standards and rating systems.
Management of the company is handled by five (5) partners with Engr. Larry Punsalan being the Managing Partner. The other partners, who are the Principal Designers of the company, are:
Engr. Cezar P. Punsalan, Engr. Manny C. Punsalan, Engr. George Palafox. Archt. Mel Punsalan is the Quality Representative and architect for the company. Each partner has his, field of expertise and specialization in the sphere of HVAC design, and management role in the organization
The company is represented by teams of Management, Administrative, Design Engineering, Design Management and CADD production staff, all of which contribute to effort of producing the best design products. Operations are fully computerized for documentations, calculations and design drawing productions, all of which are managed by a central networking and file server system. For security of documents we have instituted routine remote backing-up of files. Since earning our certifications for ISO 9001:2008, we have been continuosly improving our operations and structure to give the best service we can offer.
